What I’m Reading

I just finished two great, quick reads by Liane Moriarty – What Alice Forgot and The Husband’s Secret.  Both make you think a lot about what it takes to maintain and repair relationships and to what lengths you will go for your loved ones.  If you’re only going to read one, I would pick What Alice Forgot because as a friend of mine said, it rattles around in your head a bit.  It’s about Alice, who has hit her head and lost her memory from the past 10 years.  Ten years ago she was pregnant with her first child, and now she wakes up with 3 children and in the midst of a bitter divorce and with a strained relationship with her sister.

If you haven’t read Where’d You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple, drop everything and read it.  It’s interesting and funny with delightfully crazy (if a bit exaggerated) characters and a story line that keeps you guessing.  See what James Patterson has to say about it:
